Located in Shaw’s Blagden Alley, Calico is an Urban backyard bar and restaurant from partners Greg Algie and Executive Chef Nathan Beauchamp.
Since opening in fall of 2017, Calico has become a favorite gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. Menu offerings include chef Nate Beauchamp’s takes on East Coast classics and elevated cookout fare. The bar program, led by Ian Fletcher, offers select regional beers and wines as well as draft cocktails and adult juice boxes.
Calico features an outdoor patio as well as an intimate interior space offering a variety of cocktails and backyard eats to be enjoyed solo, with a few friends or a small gathering. Calico’s urban backyard has been featured in Zagat’s ranking of the Hottest Bars in D.C., Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the 14 Best Bars in Washington, D.C. , and one of the Washingtonian’s Best Bars in DC.
